Synopsis: Sam
Cash meets up with Joe Brady in the defence of miners being victimised by the corrupt
Lieutenant Keogh. A fight follows, and Sam and Joe shoot in self defence, putting them on

Synopsis: Joe

Synopsis:
Davey is a gentle giant who befriends Ryler and finds work at the Tandarra homestead.
Later, a Naval Lieutenant arrives with his men to arrest Davey, claiming that he is a
deserter and is wanted for murder. Davey professes his innocence and Ryler, Jessica and
Joe formulate a plan to help him. However, Davey is determined that he will not go back to
the ship, and attempts to escape - with tragic results.
Notes: The
role of Davey Doolan was especially written for Mike Preston, who adopted a Cornwall
accent for the part. Preston stated this episode proved that he had become a competent
actor - a viewpoint which the critics agreed with.
