Synopsis: Doubleday is so engrossed in his work he doesn't seem to notice anything else - including Jenny, the pretty young home science teacher.

Synopsis:
Doubleday catches a rare butterfly during one of his nature rambles. He is visited by a famous collector who offers a large sum of money to mount it.

3. The Roneo Machine is Mightier Than The Sword

Synopsis:
Trouble begins for Doubleday when Bates, the school principal, discovers an article in the latest issue of the school newspaper criticising the administration. Doubleday, a firm believer in the freedom of the press, refuses to remove the article from the paper, and goes into bat against the official views of his department.

4. All You Need Is An Honest Face

Synopsis:
Jenny is taken to lunch by a former boy friend, Charlie Wilson, in an exotic sports car, so Doubleday decides to buy a big car to impress her. He goes to the local car dealer whose slogan is 'Easy credit, just bring an honest face'.

Synopsis:

Synopsis:
Doubleday and Tobe are to represent Kannabri High in the annual chess tournament against Burnley High, and as Kannabri has been undefeated for the last 20 years, much importance is attached to the match. However, Tobe becomes too ill to compete and, with a new cleaner in the school, Doubleday seems to have too many problems.

Synopsis:
Doubleday buys a motorbike and sidecar. He invites Tobe and new teacher Phylis McTaggart for a trip to the country, but the bike ends up in a creek and in seeking refuge they are forced to spend the night in what they believe is a haunted house.

Notes: First episode with Mary Hardy as Phylis McTaggart. Segments filmed at Hanging Rock. Assistant Producer Ralph Baker plays 'Deadly Earnest', a character he portrayed as host of ATV-0's late night Aweful Movies. Naomi Swart does not appear in this episode.

Synopsis:
