SERIES 1
1. There Goes The
Groom
Phillip Malloy.......Don Philps
Charley.......John Gray
Referee.......Bill Townsend
Rugby victim.......Rick Hennell
Synopsis: Peter Prentiss plays in a Rugby
Union final with great gusto. It is to be his last game - he is to be
married the following Saturday, and has promised to hang up his boots and guernsey
forever. But the final match results in a draw, and a play-off the
following Saturday is necessary - one in which Peter, as the
team's star, must play. Peter plans to play as well as get married: by
scoring heavily in the first half, then, by committing various acts of
blatant mayhem against the referee and opposing players, getting ordered
off the field in time to go to church. But nothing works out
according to plan - all
Peter's actions are blamed on somebody else. Finally Peter takes
some radical action, and he is
whisked away to the altar where he makes his vows - still in his rugby
gear.
