Synopsis: A corrupt Australian born union leader, Hillden, is deported from the U.S.A. after 40 years. In Sydney, he masterminds the murder of visiting U.S. Senator Thorsen, who was responsible for his deportation, by arranging for playboy gunman Larry Madigan to shoot Thorsen as he leaves Sydney's Chevron Hotel. However, the Senator was a member of the Mafia being groomed for the White House, and the Mafia then seek vengeance on the man who arranged the murder.

Notes: Intended to be episode 2, it became the first episode and replaced the sub-standard pilot.

Synopsis: A young attractive redhead girl from the country unexpectedly wins a photographic beauty contest sponsored by the Carpenter Model Agency. Against the wishes of her fiancee, she leaves home to pursue a modelling career in the city. Soon after her arrival the mutilated body of a young woman is found in Sydney Harbour.

Synopsis: The investigation following the discovery of a vagrant's body uncovers the tragic life led by his wealthy widow. She lived unaware that her husband, a wartime hero and happy family man, had become a Sydney derelict.

Synopsis: While escaping from a Nazi prison camp during World War 2, Sydney Jewish art dealer Josef Vogelsang stole a valuable Titian painting. In Australia he must keep the existence of the painting a secret for fear of being deported. Members of a right wing organisation, knowing Vogelsang's position, blackmail him and terrorise Jewish members of the community.

Synopsis: Van Stroom, a Dutch gemologist, is murdered in a small hotel in Amsterdam, Holland, and the Sydney CIB is implicated when Van Stroom is found to be carrying an Australian passport. An international investigation into diamond smuggling leads to Bruce Crane, master puppeteer and controller of destinies as head of a diamond clearing house, and his sister Carol who operates a boutique as a front.

Synopsis: Lionel Porter, front man for an underground criminal organisation, raises bail for a fast gun-hand who is needed for a special job. The prisoner just released, and with a grudge, attempts to murder Det. Sgt. Sutton, but is himself slain by Bennie, a hired killer. Later, in the planning of a jewel robbery, the killer's boss orders Bennie to ‘eliminate’ one of the conspirators, but the boss is unaware that his own daughter is in love with the intended victim.

Synopsis: A small rowing boat is found floating in Sydney Harbour, and slumped across the floor lies a man with a fishing spear in his chest. He had been 'fishing' for a cylinder full of stolen fashion drawings for Ralph Ramsden, an over-mothered little rich boy. Suddenly Ralph realises that he is caught as prime suspect in an intricate web of deadly espionage.

Synopsis: A paperboy witnesses a strange and morbid spectacle on a lonely beach - a Japanese man digging a grave with another man helping him. The second man helps him fill it - with the aid of a bullet through the chest. When the Link Men are called in to investigate three macabre murders, all paths seem to lead to the Japanese man. The methods of the murderer cause the Link Men to adopt an unusual method of investigation to solve the crimes, combining their experience with aid from Forensic experts, the press, and the use of Aboriginal trackers and the RAAF Search And Rescue Squad to hunt the wanted man.

Synopsis: Two young men abduct a schoolgirl, believing she is the daughter of very wealthy parents, but it appears the police have a case of mistaken identity on their hands.

Synopsis: While Det. Const. Gamble investigates the death of a child caused by drug taking, Det. Sgt. Sutton is involved on a fraud case concerning the sale of a yacht. These two seemingly individual investigations tie together and lead the detectives to a drug trafficking racket.
