Synopsis: The 15-year-old daughter of a Catholic policeman, who is investigating a rape-murder case, becomes the chosen victim of the killer and is raped and falls pregnant. Dr. Hamilton advises her to have an abortion, which brings a moral dilemma to the family with their religious beliefs.

Synopsis: Through a young patient, Dr. Hamilton becomes involved with an occult group, and finds that they are part of a mass murder conspiracy against unmarried mothers. After two deaths, a third woman is abducted and there is a race against time to find her before she too is murdered.

Notes: The first six episodes featured Robyn Tolhurst in a support role as a policewoman who acted as Dr. Hamilton's secretary. Shortly afterwards it was decided to upgrade the secretary's role, and Robyn was replaced by Rosalind Speirs as Constable Pat Casey, a policewoman also assigned to the police medical department for secretarial duties. Rosalind Speirs made a guest performance in this episode, and even though it was only a small part in which she ended up dead within a few minutes, the producers were impressed by her performance, and she was subsequently cast in the role of Const. Casey.

Synopsis: Policewoman Clare Milson witnesses stand-over man 'Mad Dog' Morgan carve up the face of a prostitute, and he threatens her if she testifies against him in court.  After his arrest, Morgan swallows safety pins to get himself into hospital, then strangles the policeman guarding him and escapes. The safety of Jean Hamilton is at risk when Morgan tries to kill Policewoman Milson in the Hamilton's home.

Synopsis: The daughter of an American police chief forms an attachment to Dr. Hamilton, which reveals itself as a cover for a psychological problem that could result in her killing someone.

Synopsis: When Dr. Hamilton is called to attend a policeman who has been badly injured in an explosion, he administers morphine and the policeman dies. Dr. Hamilton then faces allegations of professional incompetence.

Notes: Also listed as 'Gift Of Love' in some programme guides.
This episode called for a small explosion as part of a safe break-in at a factory, however the explosion broke 15 to 20 windows at Supreme Studios where the scene was being filmed. "The blast was a bit more spectacular than we really wanted", explained Roger Mirams. "A funny end came after we had assessed the cost of replacing the windows. The person who had set the charges for the explosion came up and mentioned that his family owns a glazing factory!"22

Synopsis: Dr. Hamilton takes over as locum for a friend during his annual leave. When called to a private home to treat a lady who has had a heart attack, Hamilton meets her daughter Sharon, a heroin addict. He is unable to inform the police as the ethical relationship between patient and doctor prohibits him giving out any information without the patient's consent.

Jean is led into danger while helping Cleo try to unmask a vicious impersonation racket in the Sydney entertainment industry.

Synopsis: Whilst on a boating day trip on the Hawkesbury River, Steve and Jean Hamilton, with a group of friends, are stranded on an uninhabited island. Two of the party are murdered with a mystery drug, including Edy, the mistress of the owner of the cruiser. Each member of the group has a possible motive.

Notes: Events in this episode closely parallel those of the infamous Bogle-Chandler murder case, which has been unsolved since 1963. Some beach scenes were filmed at the back door of the WIN-4 Wollongong studios by carting in a truckload of sand.

Synopsis: 10-year-old Robert Armstrong is a diabetic. He has never known his real father, Kevin Donellan, who has been in prison for embezzlement for 10 years. On his release Donellan picks up his son Robert whilst he is on an errand for his mother, but Donellan's love for the son he has never seen puts the boy's life in danger as he is unaware of his condition. The boy's mother enlists the help of Steve and Jean to find Robert.

Synopsis: The religious beliefs of a hostage who is shot while trying to escape disallow her to accept blood transfusions that she desperately needs to save her life. Her parents give their permission for an operation, but when she regains consciousness and sees the blood she becomes very upset. Her fiancé, who belongs to the same religious sect, breaks into her hospital room to stop the transfusions. He takes her away, but she later dies as a result.

Synopsis: Arthur Lewis, a minor employee in a real estate office,
claims to have placed an altitude bomb on board on aircraft. He is arrested as he collects a ransom paid by the police to ensure the safety of the aircraft. Dr. Hamilton is faced with the task of interrogating Lewis, who refuses to disclose any information. The police, in a race against time, want to know if the bomb really exists or is just a fantasy of his mind.

Notes: A scene depicting the construction of an altitude bomb was ordered to be removed from the episode by the Australian Broadcasting Control Board.

Synopsis: Dr. Hamilton, Dr. Johnston and Det. Gilberts race against time to find a deranged killer known only as Smith.

Notes: Three firemen unexpectedly got into the action. The script featured an explosion in a car, and the fire brigade were called to extinguish the subsequent blaze when filming was completed. Two cameras were filming the action when the firemen raced in with a hose and were caught on film. A crew member said: "They played their part so convincingly we decided to keep filming and keep them in the action. The script only called for a siren but now we've got the firemen on film as well."23

Synopsis: When Jean is offered a free trip to Fiji by her mother, Steve objects to her going alone. Jean decides she is entitled to a life of her own and accepts the trip against Steve's wishes. In Fiji, Jean meets Dr. Ted Grant who runs an airport medical service to the outlying islands. A strong attachment grows between the two of them which could prove dangerous.

Notes: 90 minute episode. Segments filmed on location in Fiji.
Jack Thompson was offered the role of Dr. Grant, but he turned it down because of the Fiji location - having just finished work on the feature film Sunday Too Far Away in South Australia, Thompson wanted to stay in Sydney for a while.

Synopsis: Dr. Hamilton's personal life becomes complicated and distressed by a series of emotional conflicts when his wife gives birth to their first child - a boy named Michael. However, Michael has a serious heart defect, and in the ensuing emotional trauma, Jean becomes so uncertain of her feelings towards her husband that she leaves him.

Notes: 90 minute episode. Final episode with Elizabeth Alexander as Jean Hamilton.
