In a chase scene on the Great Ocean Road the police car hit some gravel and nearly went over a cliff. The cameraman was filming out the window when it happened, and the sequence is retained in the episode.

Synopsis: Homicide detectives pursue 'Blue' Carmody in rugged mountain bushland, after he murdered a Forests Commission officer who ordered him to put out a fire on a total fire ban day. Two women at a roadhouse assist him.

Notes: Experimental all-film episode with a significantly increased budget. No studio scenes are featured, the episode being filmed almost entirely on location at Mt. Cathedral, near Buxton. The very small number of interior scenes was also shot on film, video tape not being used. The role of 'Blue' Carmody was originally intended for Ed Deveraux.
