Synopsis: Eddie Chapman's wife is found murdered on a cliff-top path at the beach. Police suspect Eddie, the smooth talking owner of a tennis school, as does his sister-in-law Sally Partridge when Eddie asks her to sign a money order. Detectives can't prove anything until a gold necklace brings to light the real murderer. Inspector Connolly takes long service leave and Inspector Fox takes his place as head of the Homicide squad.

Synopsis: A group of pensioners in an old people's home are secretly engaged in earning extra money to supplement their pensions. When one of their number, Charlie Cook, is found dead, they dispose of the body for fear that a police investigation would expose their activities and land them in trouble with the Taxation Department.

Notes: John Dingwall was joint winner of an Awgie award for Best Script For A TV Drama Series (1969) for this episode (shared with Tony Morphett for Delta episode 19, 'A Touch Of DFP'). Many veteran actors were engaged for this episode, which doubles as a social comment on the plight of pensioners.

Synopsis: Sen. Det. Patterson joins the Homicide squad in an extensive manhunt for jail escapees Reynolds and O'Byrne. They shoot dead a prison warder, steal a car, hide out and later rob a bank.

Notes: First episode with Norman Yemm as Sen. Det. Jim Patterson. Events of the Ronald Ryan / Peter Walker case are re-created almost exactly in this episode. (Ryan was the last person to be hanged in Australia, in 1967). Originally titled 'I, Mick O'Shea', the title was changed due to recent industrial turmoil when Tramways Union secretary Clarrie O'Shea was jailed.

When Tilley meets Patterson, he mistakes Jim for Eddie, and is aghast at his behaviour. Further reports reach Homicide about Eddie, and they become concerned about Jim's 'split personality'.

Notes: Norman Yemm's twin brother Gordon features in this episode which was especially written as a comedy. Norman played both roles in single shots, and dubbed the voices when appearing with Gordon.
