Synopsis:  Wally gets a letter from his rich old Uncle Steve, who is visiting all of his relations to decide who will inherit his fortune when he dies.  Wally spends all his savings trying to impress Uncle Steve - and McGooley is turned out of his room to make way for the honoured guest.

Synopsis:  Godparents being fashionable, Wally is determined that his yet-to-be-born offspring conforms with the 'in' thing.  McGooley runs a chocolate wheel to make enough money for Nancarrow to be financially eligible as a godfather.

Synopsis:  Rita is rushed to hospital to have her baby, but Wally is outraged that the child's arrival should coincide with his Army reunion.

Synopsis:  Wally and McGooley are having to fend for themselves while Rita is in hospital having her baby.  Inevitably, fights ensue on every front of domestic activity and the pair storm off to stay with respective friends.

Synopsis: Rita gives birth to baby Allison. Wally has mislaid an important letter entrusted to him by the factory. It turns out that McGooley has thrown it into the garbage bin. Wally prepares to be sacked and starts job-hunting, and Nancarrow and McGooley sift through garbage at the local tip in search of the letter.

Synopsis:  Upon baby Allison's arrival in the household, Wally, heavy with the new weight of parental responsibility, decides to give up beer and quench his thirst solely with spinach and artichoke juice. However, after putting a notice in the paper announcing the birth, the house is besieged by so many people it threatens to drive Wally back to the beer.

19. McGooley's Little Holiday

Synopsis:  Since the new baby arrived home, Wally has not slept a wink, and he is certain that the standard of his work at the factory, screwing nuts onto bolts, will soon deteriorate.  So Wally conjures up a plot to get rid of McGooley to a relative's place in Newcastle, then turn his room into a nursery.  However, the plot misfires when McGooley misses his train and returns home at the most awkward moment.

20. Confessions Of A Sporting Man

Synopsis:  When McGooley gets a job as a copy boy with the racing staff of a newspaper, Wally has dreams of retiring as a gentleman punter.

Synopsis:  When Wally has to deliver an important speech to the RSL, he is unable to put his thoughts on paper since McGooley has the only pencil in the house, and is soon sunk in despair.  Then McGooley solves the problem by finding a book called 'Speeches For All Occasions' on the local garbage tip.

Synopsis:  Wally insists that the household go on a health diet.  McGooley is assigned the task of seeing that Wally keeps off the beer, while Wally keeps an eye on McGooley to see that he does not get at the corn flakes.
